Just wondering if anyone can tell me trhe average a 6 mo old should be in weight and length...I know it varies, but I know there is a chart to see if they are with in the normal weight and length...Does anyone know??

i have just had a look at the chart....its in the health book that is given to you at hospital.
boys average
length 62-72cm
weight 6.3-10 kg
girls average
length 60-70cm
weight 5.7-9 kg
obviously if they are towards the lighter shorter end of the scale they would be in the lower percentage
but as long as they are somewhere in between it is acceptable.

well different babies weigh different sizes. At six months I weigh 22 pounds the average 6 month hold is between 16-19 anything less is considered skimppy. The length should be 26-30 inches because normally babies come out between 16-23 inches when they are born so it various just make sure your baby has enough fruits, vegetables, formula and water and he/she will be fine

Are they in the same percentile that they started in at birth? That is all that matters. My Duaghter was 8 pounds 5 ounces and 21.5 inches at birth and is well over 20 pounds now but is still in the 75% tile for her age. The doctor says she is very healthy and to keep up the good work. Talk to your pediatrician if you are worried.

My baby boy is 6 months. He is 16lbs 4oz and 28 inches long. He was 7lbs/21 inches at birth.

That depends on how much your baby weighed at birth. If you are really concerned about your baby's weight then talk to the doctor about it at his next check up. He is the only one who should be giving you advise on this.

my baby weighed 18 pounds and was about 26 inch?now shes 28lb and 32inch at age 2

try it - all you need to do is put down your child's monthly weight and lenght and see if he/she falls in the average child. it's better to check the chart out yourself since boys and girls have different average height and lenght.
