The proper spelling is ACCEPTED! and I agree with you... we have no control as to who our parents are... we are just a product.. We need to be allowed to live our life without it being minmalized by hateful people...
I am not a religious person, but isn't it written...Love thy neighbor as thyself?
And also judge not least ye be judged?
Those free of sin cast the first stone?
I find most people that perpetuate also claim to be christians... you would think they would be familiar with those quotes...These are also the same people that hate blacks, spanish and jews alike.... don't they realize that Jesus was a Jew?
Poor misguided souls.... they no not what this miss in life by restricting their circle of friends...
I am who I am...

This is such a difficult question to answer. I'm Canadian and live and work in a diverse environment, therefore I don't have such a racial bias, but I'm not ignorant of it because it is broad and exists everywhere.
I think forced integration would be an answer in our communities where we live---heck, we do it to a small degree in our work environments without even an afterthought these days.
I've come to terms that it could take up to 3 generations of growing youth in multicultured environments to see that accepting neighbours as people brings nothing to do with 'colour of your skin' and 'how you behave' or 'what God you worship'. Speach accents are lost; common language and fluency; learning to laugh at yourself; education and community awareness seem to play on this role.
I do happen to think heavily that Mommys' and Daddys' are the worst culprits and it could be by simple slur of the tongue even once could condition a child incorrectly.
Give it some time my friend and "we'll all just eventually get along". However, be part of the revelation and don't ever participate in someone's misguided judgement because, quite frankly, it's probably not their own judgement that they're acknowledging inappropriately.
There's a whole lot a friends to make in your every day life!
Cheers my friend,
David

Racism is very necessary. Really, look at just the 20th century. How much exciting history would we have missed with out racism.
The murder of 6 million Jews.
The genocide in the Balkans
The race riots across the U.S.
Sh'ia killing Sunni, Sunni killing Kurds, Kurds killing Turks
And in the 21st century
Videotaped beheadings (G-d rest your sould Nick Berg, et al)
9/11/01
3/11/05
7/7/05
and I could go on and on and on...
Yep, racism is cool man...especially if you are into senseless violence, bloodshed and general man's inhumanity to man.
/sarcasm off

Racism is discrimination against someone because of their race.
I don't know why people are racist it's probably one of those no answer questions like "What is the meaning of life?" People have their ideas and beliefs and they choose to believe that being outside of a certain race makes you inferior.

1. People are insecure and need to put down somebody to make themselves feel better
2. People learn things at home and spread it to the rest of society.
3. People actually believe the stereotypes about others, and when they see the one person that does it, they believe all people do it.

I haven't looked at any other answers, so please forgive me if I repeat without giving credit.
That great philospher Homer Simpson once said "sometimes the only way you can feel good about yourself is by making someone else feel bad."
Racism, IMHO, is based in fear, ignorance and low self-esteem. People who hate because of race will hate because of just about anything. They have knee-jerk reaction to what they see, superimpose it with myths and lies and come up with a reason to hate that is founded in baseless garbage.
Or, like Homer says...maybe they just feel like they are worthless and the only way they can feel good about themselves is by hating someone else.

As long as there are pre-conceived notion as to who is "better" or "worthy", there will be racism.
I agree that people are to be judged on an individual basis and are not representative of their race, but many folks are lazy and won't take the time to know people better

Well the black think that we owe them something because their great great great ancestors were slaves.
And some white folk think that they deserve everything because they are white.
And this goes for the other races they all think they are better than the rest.
Well I am here to tell you that they are wrong we are all equal in the eyes of the one whom created us.
We all have a soul body and mind, and a free will.
If we want God to spare us his judgement we all had better change.

Honestly I think its fear, If people would get to know others, on a personal basis I think they would like them as long as their good people, but every race has bad people, and every race has good.
