Billions of years from now, the sun will turn into a red giant and will eventually swallow the earth. So yes, in that sense, there will eventually be an "end of the world".

I'm not worried about asteroids. Major asteroid impacts take place maybe once every hundred million years. By the time the next one comes around, we'll have the technology to stop it.

There will be major catastrophes. There will almost certainly be nuclear war within our lifetimes, though it probably won't be anywhere near as destructive as some doom-mongers would like to think. Odds are it'll happen somewhere other than the United States. Nuclear war may set us back decades, or in the worst case by a century or so, but it won't threaten the survival of the human race.

Global warming and other supposed environmental catastrophes are not a threat to human survival. The dangers have been vastly overblown by the nuttier environmentalists. The average temperature of the planet has frequently been hotter than it is today, and in general, when a problem gets sufficiently severe, people tend to take action to fix it.

We'll certainly have setbacks, and probably even some major ones, but the human race is pretty hardy. We can survive in all environments, ranging from arctic to desert, even without the help of modern technology. Sometimes people do crazy things, but overall, I have great faith in the future of humankind.

Nope, the world isn't ending any time soon.

I don't think an asteroid is going to be hitting the earth anytime soon. See, the inner planets have a sort of built-in "asteroid protection system." The planet Jupiter has massive gravity that draws all the asteroids near its orbit. That's where the asteroid belt came from. Occasionaly one might get through, but they're usually not very big.
