your not the only one, i often wake crying sometimes that ive dreamt of a family member being killed or hurt and there is nothing i can do about it, i dont know why this happens but i know its a sign of anxiety in real life or depression, maybe you suffer abit from it aswell as me, when it happens it is really scary, almost like its really happening, so if you have any worries in real life try to deal with them and this might stop happening.. good luck

I answered to a similar question before. What you experience now is happening to many people. As you can see from the above answers - you are not alone! And I had the same problem + panic attacks:

My former answer which I think might apply to you:

To me this sounds like compulsion thoughts and maybe anxiety disorder. You will have to see a psychologist/psychiatrist - s/he will definetely be able to help. Both disorders very often can be cured easily (not necessarily with medication), for example in a behaviour therapy.
But you will need professional help to clarify why this happens to you etc.
For the moment: You probably try very hard not to have these thoughts - but that is exactly what makes them pop up all the time.
If I tell you to not think of Ernie from Sesame Street for the next five minutes, you will hardly be able to think of anything else. If I tell you to think of nothing but Ernie, your thoughts will stray from him all the time.
There are ways to come clear with this problem - I promise! I went through it all myself - no compulsion thoughts in the last 5 or so years.
But I needed professional guidance!!!

All the best luck!

No, you're not crazy or mentally ill! I had "night terrors," as they are called, for years, and as horrible as they feel, they're usually harmless. They may be accompanied by shortness of breath and/or a very rapid heart beat. Their exact cause is unknown, but severe stress, unresolved emotional problems, acute fear, and any excessive use of stimulants can make them worse. Try to address or resolve the big issues in your life. It's possible. I found that alcohol consumption only made it worse. Antidepressants and short-term counseling finally worked for me. Please see a doctor soon. This is a good website: www.freedomfromfear.org. I'll pray for you to get over this.

I once had a horrible dream that kept recurring and was so realistic it scared me so much. it was were i was changing my sons nappy and when i looked up my now 3yr old little girl was gone and her toy pram was next to the front door where she used it to get out the front. I couldn't find her any where i called my husband to come home and rang the police then i remember the police telling me they had found my little girls body all burnt where she had been set on fire while still alive and died as a result and i remember the funeral in my dream and every thing. it scared me so much especially when my daugther started using her toy pram to try and get out the front, i ended up buying a little buzzer thing to let me know if my front door was being open. so if Ur crazy so am i.

I just have horribly disturbing dreams...but that's not too far off. I repeatedly over the course of a week or so had this horrible vision of my dad dying in a car crash, though, come to think of it........

Maybe you are not f***ed up as you put it, but it may be worth thinking back to your recent or long term past to see if something has upset or traumatised you, so that you can talk to somebody about it. Failing that I would go to a GP or seek counselling because something is clearly bothering you that you have difficulty facing up to

i do it all the time. scares hell out of me as it usually means something bad has happened to someone i know. as you know, daily happenings can affect our dreams. happy thoughts before bed help some but if you are worried then you for sure will dream scary stuff. if you worry about it (the dreaming) instead of accepting it then the dreams will continue

Yes, I get that from being on medication!! (mirtazapine/remeron). I have decided to take myself off that slowly and put my self back on venlafaxine/effexor because of the nightmares and scary shite!! Either that or you are stressed???
