if your pens are $4 each, multiply the number of pens you purchased (3) and subtract that total from the $30 giftcard.
3*4=12
30-12=18
after the purchase, $18 will remain on the giftcard

You would multiply $4. x 3 = $12. Then take $30. - $12. = $18. Unless there is tax included. If there is tax included then multiply 12 xs how ever much the taxes are.{9.25%}
