Best thing to do when in Huntington Beach: park the car (assuming you are driving) and take a walk up Main Street from Pacific Highway. You will be amazed at all the various kinds of restaurants, even vegetarian and ethnic. You can take your pick right then and there.
If you are willing to walk a little farther and take a hike all the way to the end of the Huntington Pier, there is a Ruby's Diner there with spectacular views of the ocean below.
An excursion like that could be totally "rad!"

Hi,
Sorry I'm not familiar with Huntington Beach, but I know it's not too far away from Newport Beach. Before he gets here, you could check out what's ocean front over there. Also, if you don't mind a little driving, there is a fantastic Greek restaraunt in Long Beach called Mykono's is almost right on the boarder of Seal Beach and Long Beach on 2nd Street. Everything is good there, and if that's not your style, all of 2nd street is hopping. Very good little Italian place.
Also, don't know what kind of money you are out to spend, but I highly recommend Sir Winston's. It is on the Queen Mary in Long Beach. Very Romantic, Very Posh. Don't know what they charge for rooms there, but if you really wanted to make a night of it, you could eat at Sir Winstons, hit the bar on the back of the ship for dancing (if it's a Fri/Sat) and then crash in a hotel room right on the ship. You should know that Sir Winston's stops taking food orders promptly at 9:45 no exeptions. So if you choose to go there, dress up, get reservations and be on time. We missed dinner once there because my boyfriend was late! QM is a fun idea, though because it's romantic and there's a lot of interesting things to look at. I think the Titanic exhibition is still there if you're into that sort of thing.
No matter what you decide, I hope you have a great time with your boyfriend. :-)

Don't know any place in H.B., but try Blowfish Sushi or Sushi on Sunset. Both in Hollywood. A bit of a drive from H.B., but Blowfish is definitely worth it. A bit $$$ though. Check em out on opentable.com

Get the local newspaper and check out their entertainment sections. In SD, the Union Tribune has a Night and Day section on Thursdays and it has some great ideas, what's popular or new in our area. Good luck.
