So I shaved my pubic area for the first time 2 nights ago, and when I woke up yesterday morning I had a red rash appear there. It's mostly just red marks and bumps.

Anyway, I know it should go away by itself, but I was wondering if there were any home remedies I could use to help the process along. I've searched around and I think this may be the infection type shaving rash, because it itches a little.

Should I try using Clearasil, or may that irritate it further? I've applied Aloe vera gel a few times but that hasnt helped a lot.

I'd like to know how soon this may be solved, and anything I can do to make it go away faster. Thanks.

White Star;

I know you asked a serious question so you may find this amusing.

There is a VERY famous actress who once told a story about wanting to surprise her boyfriend (at that time) for Valentines day. She wanted to shave her pubic hair into the shape of a heart, and dye it bright red, and "give" him that (if you know what I mean) as a present. After doing this she thought that the red color looked dull, so she and the friend helping her decided that what they needed to do was to bleach the hairs white first then re-dye them red. They put a hair color removing chemical on the hair, not thinking of what the consequences of doing this would be, and the caustic chemicals burned her skin in that sensitive area. It took several months for the skin to heal and for her to be able to "give" him that present. TRUE STORY!!!

Well i guess we have been doing the same thing. I just shaved about 3 days ago, and i also got a little irritation. It will go away like in 3 days.

Scrub lightly with a loofah in the shower ( or face cloth as long as you scrub in little circle) so you don't get ingrowns. It will hurt a little bit but it gets rid of the bumps and heals faster. I have been doing it for years.

its not a rash it the hair growing back that's what is itchy
try waxing instead it grows back finer and you wont get bumps or itch
also make sure you exfoliate every other day and apply cream every day
