I have heard that you can extract codeine from Tylenol, I have even seen the poor man's guide of how to do it but it says you need AC&C, Tylenol #1.
I was just wondering if you can extract Codeine from Tylenol Extra Strength 500 mg. Becuase I have also heard from my pharmacist friend that all tylenol has a tiny amount of codiene. Anyone know...and don't say stupid ****.

Tylenol (acetaminaphen) does not contain codiene. Tylenol #2 is the combination and it requires a special perscription.(the orange ones that you have to sign for) Extra strength does not have codiene either. There is no reason to say that all Tylenol has a small amount, it is not true.

Well, you can buy tylenol with codeine off the shelf in Canada but not here. I don't believe that there is any codiene in OTC tylenol here in the states, but there could be a trace, and I mean TRACE amount since hydrocodone is a narcotic. If there is a trace it probably wouldn't be worth the money to extract it.

Tylenol No.1 contains 7.5 mg Codeine. It is not available in the US though. You cannot get Codeine from acetaminophen any more than you could make a bicycle out of fish guts.

You are either a) lying about what your 'pharmacist' told you or
b) your pharmacist is completely, utterly, thoroughly, up in the night
