I've been on Yasmin for about a month now and I've been feeling really depressed since I've started on it. I know this because I'm generally a happy person but I've really been feeling down lately and I've also been getting pissed off at really stupid things. I just started college so I thought maybe the moving away from home thing maybe was the case but then I realized it could be the Yasmin. Mostly since I've never had problems being away from home before. Has anyone else had this problem? What are some suggestions on what I should do?

It is highly possible that the Yasmin is to blame, however you really need to give your body 3 months to adjust to hormonal birth control. If after 3 months you still feel depressed then talk to your doctor about switching to a different type of HBC or think about seeing a therapist.

You can try taking vitamin b suppliments to help with improve your mood and see if that helps.

It probably is the Yasmin. I personally have had problems with certain birth control pills and been fine on others. My sister has had problems like that as well. Talk to your OBGYN and see if they can switch you. It will probably make a huge difference. You may have to try different ones to see which one works best for you.

My daughter is on Yasmin but I haven't noticed any mood swings. Any birth control affects your hormones. Maybe you should get in touch with your gynocologist and get on another brand.
