They want to feel good about themselves after making a mistake so they point the blame at another.
Most of the time it's not ment to hurt the other person they just want to feel better at the situation. Other times it's just to get the other person in trouble or to feel bad.
All in all they get pleasure out of it.
Sick huh?

It is always easier to look for an outside cause than a inner flaw when one falls short of the desired outcome. Self truth is a very bright light when one is staring straight in to it. I find that squinting helps.

Because people tend not to think "out of the box" or outside their own perspective. Therefore they feel that anything negative to them is the result of an outside influence. Hence, they blame everyone else..

Wastin away again in Margaritaville
Lookin for my lost shaker of salt
Some people claim there's a woman to blame
But I know
It's nobody's fault

We close our eyes; we never lose a game
Imagination never lets us take the blame
We close our eyes; to see the final frame
We close our eyes to time slipping away
