All my life I thought that was a strange saying, why wouldn't we want our wish to come true! As I get older I realise that it is true. My example is if I HAD married the pop star I loved years ago, I would probably have been so disillusioned, and seen a world I'd rather not have at that tender age!
What is your example of this saying being true?

It usually involves someone looking outside them selves for some happiness that is within them all along!

I know what you mean I used to think the exact same thing when i was younger too.I used to wish I could be a bug b/c I thought they were so interesting. Very glad that didn't come true LOL
