I think it was a cool look, why did everyone suddenly stop wearing them after the 40's?

You should talk to my sister. She thinks everyone should go back to suits and sun dresses. I know in my town we could use a lot more class here...although it's not very pleasant to wear suits in 110 degree heat...

Skull configurations. People were stockier, larger back then. Oddly enough, few people wear a hat at all these days. Ever notice? A hat doesn't look good on everyone. This is usually the prime consideration. Not that it's a guard against direct U.V. rays in places where it's a hazard, nor in places where it's really cold and eighty percent of your body heat goes up through your head. Fedoras are beautiful, though. One guy told me it was a style, not a company name. Dumb, huh? There's a Fedora company, also a Borsalino Company. They were considered very definitive in quality headgrear with their distinctive label inside the crown. Also, Homburg.

I think some of it had to do with (at least in the U.S.) the trend towards population expansion -migration to the Western states where formal dress was never a big deal. I personally like hats but I am the odd man out.

american eagle only sold that look for guys when every other retailer wouldn't do that in the spring. i think it looks cute on some guys. but the best thing about it is you can make it look casual without making it look too formal like you're going to a jazz club.

If they want to, why not. I remember my dad wearing one occasionally, but that would have been in the sixties. (-: He was just slow at letting go of the old styles.

Some people can pull them off, some people can't. I,personally love vintage and think that it is sexy when guys wear them.

People and technologies are advancing. They even wear disposable underwears, why should we go back to the primitive?
