Because it was agreed when the United States was formed that the capital would be in the South as compromise for not making slavery legal everywhere and on East Coast because was picked out of the 13 orginal Colonies

probably has to do with history, this country began with colonies.., i believe 13 of them. they were all located on the east coast. I think it was a good location due to the access to the water to get to the ocean ( verry important at that time )and the access was/is verry defendable.

When the 13 colonies were founded, The capitol was in the center of everything. Now it is not because we are too lazy to move it to a more central place.

Ummm, I'm pretty sure you can search for it on here; either that or you can try searching it at www.google.com I think they wanted it there because George Washington built the White House there and they named "Washington D.C" after him.
