I've been in this situation and still am. It hurts so bad :-(

My brother has been shooting for about 4 or 5 years. I thought I could get him to stop, I could usually get him to do anything because we were really close and trusted each other. We were like best friends, at least I considered him mine. Well he lives in CT and I'm in MA, so there's a 2 hour time difference, it's not far but to me it is.

The only thing you can really do is pray that they stop. You could always try writing a letter. I did that but I don't know if it got any results. If you really pour your heart out to them and try to spend time with them when you do visit, or even just frequent phonecalls...just to let them know how much you care...it might just help.

This is a tough one...when a loved one starts using drugs it is up to them to stop...no matter what you do or say it has to come from within for them to stop. Tell them how much you love and would miss them is they died from the use of drugs. It's not only the drugs that can cause harm to them but also the people that they associate with...Just show that you care and ask if they need or want help to get their life straight and let them know you are willing to help. Don't beat yourself up over it if they choose not to talk about their problem. Just stay on the right path yourself and set an example for them.
Good Luck

why dont you make more of an effort to see them a bit more and tell them that you are there if you need them, i no it musr be hard for you but maybe if they can see you are being supported of them then they might take your advice and try rehab... gd luck...

Get the family together and pull an interdiction. Inform them that is they don't listen, they will be dealing with the police.

if you're talking about illegal drugs, put their drug cigarettes out in there eye. then beat them unconscious and drag them to the police station, that's what I'd do.

Send them to detox and then rehab.
