Firefox should have imported your favourites during the installation of Firefox. You should not use both browsers at the same time, only add bookmarks in one of them (Preferably Firefox).

Copy the following folder to the other computer:
C:\Documents and Settings\[yourusername]\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

The Profiles folder has a file called bookmarks.html this is your bookmarks file. I suggest you copy the whole folder to retain the same settings on the other computer.

in case you install Firefox on the laptop with IE on it, Firefox can import your IE bookmarks. you could then get carry of bookmark sharing plugins (consisting of Foxmarks) for Firefox which will provide help to share your bookmarks between distinctive circumstances.
