Obviously visit Kitty Hawk, the site of the first airplane flight. Hang glide, shop, and enjoy the beach!! It truly is beautiful!!

Recommendations for Outer Banks Activities:
1.) Purchase/Borrow a fishing rod and tackle. Go fishing.
2.) Purchase a 5 foot throw net with 3/4 Inch mesh and go shrimping from dusk until about midnight. in shallow water it is not uncommon to get one shrimp per cast. If lucky, you can pull in 4 - 5 in a songle cast. Not long and you will have a bucket full. Boil them in beer with three splashes of lemon juice. Clean and serve cold with SeaFood Sauce and cold beer.
3.) Check out the beaches. Many unusual restaurants and curio shops are located on the Outer Banks. Some excellent taffy shops are there also.
4.) Check out the Maritime Museum.
5.) Pay a visit to the US Coast Guard Station and tell them how much you appreciate the job they do every day.
6.) Help a waterfront homeowner rebuild his home.
7.) When visiting the area, please bring one bag of play sand to dump on the beach. Help us preserve our beaches.
8.) Attend a National Wildlife Refuge Tour. They are just great and present clearly the benefits of conservation efforts in the USA.
