I work at a call center & the head MGR is a total ******, he's always sitting behind everyone & watching them whenever he wants. If you ever look him in the eye he always finds something not so cool to say about u. At this place they're always looking for reasons to fire people.
I took a thumb-tack and placed it on an empty desk in a cubicle. It's one of his favorite spots to sit & watch people. There are no cameras showing the inside of the cubicle but there is 1 at each end of the isle, & this cubicle was in the center of the isle. So he got a little skeptical, people nearby laughed when he sat down. He brought someone out w/ him from a room, they were walking REALLY fast to the camera closet to try & see who did it. 10 min later, it was time to leave, the camera closet was closed, the guy was gone, the MGR said nothing to me. Just to be sure, I asked him to help me w/ something, he kindly did & didn't ask me about it or suspect me at all. I go back on Sunday, I'm a bit worried.

Well, while inflicting physical pain on an annoying boss might seem relieving, you may realize now that not only did you do the wrong thing, but in doing so, you've created even more stress for yourself.
Keep in mind that even though your boss is a jerk, you were free to leave that thankless job at any time without harming anyone. Now you might not only get caught, but could possibly have criminal charges brought against you. I doubt that this is something that you needed in your life, and will put you in a worse situation than simply walking out of work would have.
By your own admission, he kindly helped you with a problem, so even though he doesn't seem to be very personable, he at least seems to be professional, and do his job.
For a short-term laugh, you may have created a long-term problem. I hope that in the future, you will consider confronting an employer that you are having problems with, or at the very least, will simply politely quit a job in which you do not feel well treated, and hope to at least get a good reference.

You should be worried. Your mgr may not be the only A. H. working at your company! How can you really expect to get away with pranks, if there are cameras all over the place. If, by a miracle you don't lose your job, stop screwing around, because you eventually WILL BE CAUGHT! If you don't like it there, look for another job with less stress. Just do your job and nothing more, if you stay.

I have seeing others post that you have place.... But this one make me think that you still acting like a child.
That is OK, but you have responsibilities in which you have post in others post, you are married and I think you need to start acting like a man.
Stop complaining and do something about it, is what real men's do.
Before I thought that you really need opinions, Life is not easy, but we can learn from our mistakes, resolve them and make the best from them.
Don't like your job get another or go back to college...but is no point of asking opinions if you don't take them.
There are two type of people the one get a problem resolve and learn from it and make something valuable...The other one take the problem and just complaint and love people feel sorry for them, which one are you? Only you can decide which one you want to be.
For the others readers, maybe don't understand what I am trying to said see his others post.
I still wishing you good luck.

I just asked my (nice) boss - and she said it merrits assault, but she was laughing about it... JUST DONT ACT GUILTY... If there is no camera in the cubicle there is NO way in hell they can prove that you did it. Just deny it if they accuse you and if they fire you take them to court and get a whole year's salary without working for it. (You could have been in that office to do ANYTHING) :o) Good one though. Serves him right.

That is really funny. And I am sure that if he finds out that you did it, most likely you will get in trouble a write up, citation, and at worst fired. But really..as long as you think it was worth it, it doesn't matter.
Sure made me laugh.
Good Luck I hope everything works out.

There's no way to know. They probably didn't have time to view the entire tape. It's hours long. If you're lucky, the tape ran out.
Why would you want to work for such a stressful company anyway? There are companies that treat you well.

If they fire you for it you can collect unemployment. But with him being civil to you I doubt they know it was you because he would have had some kind of attitude toward you. I think you are going to be fine. If not like I said go to the unemployment office.

That is hilarious. Sounds like you are in the clear. Just hope they don't find out, cause if he doesn't have a sense of humor you'll probably be fired.
