Am buying a home in Springfield MO and am being asked to pay for Title Insurance, have just sold my home in Arkansas and I was the one who had to pay for the Title Insurance. So I am a little confused.

I'm next door in Joplin. We've purchased two homes over the years and have paid for the title insurance both times.

I don't know about Missouri specifically, but the standard practice in my state (Oregon) is for the seller to pay for the owner's policy and the buyer to pay for the lender's policy. I do think that can vary from state to state. Anyway, if the title insurance company says you need to pay, then it's pretty much a given that you need to pay!

Hopefully you're just being asked to pay for the lender's policy. That one should cost quite a bit less than the owner's policy.

you do. depending on what quarter the taxes are currently, most buyers will have to pay at least around 6 months worth of taxes and insurance.
