I am thinking about buying "Trauma Center: Under the Knife", Mario Kart DS, or Animal Crossing
Which one? if not any of these which one?

I'm not buying a PSP because they are crappy and have like 10 minute loading screens... if I wanted loading screens I'd play and XBOX 360!

animal crossing held interest for a good enough while, but it's much better if you have WiFi capabilities.

mario: partners in time was a great puzzle/rpg - and i reccomend THIS game above any other, for the time being

trauma center was good... until you get to a near impossible stage, where you have a hard enough time cutting 3 boils off of different veins, only to find that suddenly 9 more veins in three more places suddenly erupt... it is so frustrating! because of that, i gave up after a few times (just THREE was almost impossible to do!)

harvest moon DS is holding up very well so far

new mario looks great

Trauma centre is great, it's advanced enough that some of the operations are a challenge, the playability is great.

I also own Animal crossing, it's fun but sorta quaint - if you are into finishing things like collecting all the fish and all the household items it's good but if you want a lot of puzzles to unlock its not the game for you.

Nintendogs is fun, its got a lot of extra features the GBA version didn't have. Depending on where you play DS tho it might not be a good pick - there are ALOT of voice commands using the mic, and you can't have too much background noise or the dogs get confused heh. I'd probably rate this around the same as Animal Crossing for playability and enjoyment on a sim game.

If you've tried any of the Lunar series on GBA etc, the DS one is the same concept but has added features - it's a neat little game, should provide a lot of hours of playing even if you are quick with figuring stuff out. Me and my GF both like this one.
Big brain academy and brain age are very similar, both are a lot of fun. Academy has more stuff at the start, brain age has more stuff to unlock. Either way it doesn't matter which one you buy first but don't buy both until you have seen if you like one.

Other games I am really interested in getting are Lost in Blue (one year old, its only available 2nd hand on places like ebay but it got great reviews and it looks like a good RPG game.

Phoenix Wright, Ace Detective is also on my list to be picked up, I havent played it yet but it looks great too.

Mario kart DS was named one of the best titles to hit the DS! with great racing, battle matches it makes a good game to have when your on a road trip to somewere, another great game is Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow, a game were you play as Soma, a white haired hero who was supposed to become the lord of darkness when he defeated dracula in his previous game Castlevania Aria of Sorrow, in his game you go through dracula's massive castle that features several enimys and heres the cool part, when you kill an enemy soma has a chance (based on his luck stat) to get their soul! enabling him to use their power as his own! making this game an excellent buy, another good game to get (especially if you like the mario games) is New! super mario bros. a game that is based off the classic side scroller where you play as mario and you have to rescue princess peach (again) you'll have to run, jump, swim, and grab plenty of power ups if you want to get the damsel in distress this time! it also features alot of mini games so you can pick it back up even if you beat it! these are some of the games i played and loved, i have more but i think you might not want to read much more of this, anyway hope this helps!

If you're picking from that list I would choose Mario kart, but I would also recommend the New super Mario brothers. I bought both games for my kids and I couldn't stop playing. They would hide their DS's from me (lol). good luck gaming.

Animal Crossing or Mario kart. Both of those have good play value and they are both fun. Wi-fi is also avialiable if you have a wireless internet connection.
IF you like Star Fox, I also recommend StarFox command which is fairly new and is fun to play (along with wi-fi).
