Untangling necklaces are the worst!!! Once you find the knot, find a pin and stick it through any opening you can find. Try to loosen the knot. Eventually, you should be able to undo it with your hands. If it won't come untangled, if it was cheap, throw it away, if its gold or something thats more expensive, take it to a jeweler and see what they can do.

You can use a needle to break up the chunks.
