You can not change your IP address.
You can only redirect your computers ability to read the IP you have been given.

If you have the proper security, you can send a "bogus" IP address that will hide your identity from the outside.

I use McAfee myself...

Your IP address comes from a pool of IP address. You ISP provider has applied for and has been released X number of addresses. Some number of these address has been place in a pool for all user accounts managed by that ISP.

When you turn your networked system on TCP/IP queries your ISP IP address pools and assigns you an address. Part of TCP/IP has a program called Time To Live. That is the amount of time that you can keep that address before you automatically get a new one. Every time you exit the network, your IP is released to the pool.

If your system is off and all IPs in the pool are in use, then yours will be given to the next user that logs on, you will get a different one when you later log on.

The same applies for any devices that you have on your network.

Unless you run a utility to force change or the Time-To-Live expires or the pool is in use and your system is off, you will keep the same IP.

an IP is not available for your choice, it is given by your ISS when you have a connection. But there are some softwares for using(not changing) different IP adresses. Its loigcal explaining: you connect to a server with your own IP and it provides you another IP number and it makes slower your internet connections. I tried Hide IP pro! it gives me an IP address as if I am connecting from North Korea, and this means I am connecting to a server in North Korea to use internet, all the pages I desired are coming through that server and this makes my connection slower and keeps me wait!
