Compare the present day with even our grandparent's generation, and we have made progress. No Depression. No Cold War. Of course we do have global warming and terror wars. Different problems, not less problems.

I hope to God not. Have you really researched what Utopia is like? I first got interested in this concept in the 8th grade when I started to read the book "The Giver" (good read by the way). Nothing is and can ever be perfect, so if something dissrupts the "Utopia" they/it are eliminated. Even if its something like being a few pounds under weight. That is just my views on the subject.
Edit: I think the Rickster has been listening to the Byrds....

In my never to be humble opinion, I think we're on the eve of destruction. And, yes I think you're too optimistic in this regard.

I think the world is on the verge of annihilation - but I believe it's the end times and I'm Christian - so I'm optimistic.
