I am about to turn my computer off and will go back on line when I get into work at 9am. The person who manages to write something to inspire me to do a full days work, and feel motivated and buzzing for the day gets the 10 points. Tell me what inspires you, if you like! And yes, I already know its only 1 day til the weekend!! (It may help to know that its a day of writing and updating policies and procedures).

For those interested, I am a manager in social care. I'm waiting for my project to open. I love the work normally - its just waiting for the work to start properly that is making me lose patience!! I'm normally self motivated - but I'm getting bored with that!!

Right then, firstly the worst is over, everyone hates getting out of bed and going to work, it's rubbish. but you've done it, the rest is easy.

Now to keeping you entertained for the day. Carefully remove the 'M' and 'N' characters on someone elses keyboard and swap them around. They will hopefully spend ages trying to work out whats wrong with their computer.
I did this to my boss and the results kept me chuckling all day. Especially when he phoned the IT department, priceless.

Anyway, I've got to go and look for a new job!

Have a good day and an even better weekend.

I can remember being bored at work, (I'm retired now). Knowing that I had years and years of boring repetitious work ahead of me, I developed lots of strategies to 'ease-the-pain'. If you can, get up from your work station every half hour and take a short walk. Look for someone else who looks bored and ask them a question, quite often they'll be happy to talk a few seconds , that's all it needs. Keep a pad and pencil at hand and jot down lines of poetry that come into your head, write down things that make you laugh. Smile at everyone who passes your desk, this could be dangerous I know, but it can also be exciting. At lunch break, rain or shine, get out of the building and walk somewhere different each day. Leave your mobile and ipod in the office , you don't need them, and they don't need you. Soak-up the sights , sounds and aromas around you, buy some new make-up, browse in a book shop, buy an ice-cream, go in a museum, walk over bridges, anything other than sitting at your desk and waiting for the next round of boredom.

Good luck Jaz

I keep motivated at work (in a cafe) by playing noughts and crosses in the butter dish. Not much help if you work in an office, but why not play consequences with neighbouring collegues! If you actually HAVE to work, just pretend you're on a secret mission or somthing. You're only pretending to be who you say you are, until you discover where the diamonds that you boss stole are hidden.

Far fetched i know, and quite immature. I'm afraid that's the best i've got. You could always rate you collegues out of 10 for how fit they are (in your head of course). UNLESS, you play with someone and pretend that you're "trying to be quiet" until you have some nosey person listening in, this is when you nod in their direction and giggle whilst saying 10.

Get a job that doesn't make you go on line to get away from it. Think about something you really want to do (obviously not one that requires sitting in front of a computer!!) Working with animals, children, sick people. These are all things that will take you out of boredom and focus on really doing something good and going home feeling that you made a difference. Then log on for a chat. It's what I do . Good luck.

It's essential that you enjoy the work you are doing . If you don't, perhaps you should look for more congenial work. Concentrating on doing your work to the absolute best of your ability, and being proud of it, should fix the problem. Maybe you're not getting appropriate recognition for the work you do, in which case an honest word in the boss's ear could be useful.

I've been "on both sides of the desk", so feel qualified to try to help you.

without written policies and procedures the world would be chaos. please for my sake and my children's make the world a better place and do a great job writing and updating those policies and procedures. If you do this you will be an inspiration to all and everyone will shout your name from the mountain tops. Then you can bask in your glory and say "I am the best who ever lived and I make the world go round, bow to me you pathetic mortals, ahah ahhahahah hahahhahahaha" then ***** slap yourself and get back to reality and say "hey at least its Friday and I can go drinken after work, yeehaw" then throw something at your nearest coworker and just give them that crazy stare I know you have.

The best way to get through the day at work is to:

1. walk around and see how each of your co-workers are doing and wish them a happy Friday.

2. you can ask each co-worker what their plans are for the weekend.

3. Take on a challenging task, that will only take a day to complete, and your day will fly by as you strive to complete that task in one day.

4. You could surf the internet all day to see if their is anything you would like to do on your day off.

Think nice thoughts before you go in, like what you will do at week end, what treat can you buy with the money you earn, get a good tune going in your head and stride out to it, be positive. Have you got a radio you could listen to while you work ?, I find I can do both happily and the radio doesn't distract me, just cheers me up, we are good at multi tasking us women, have a nice day, remember all your mates on here are waiting for you to get home, bye for now !!

I work 12hours night time shift. And I use to hate it. But the thing that inspire me to get up and out to work is my BABY,,My girl friend that I'm crazy over works in the same plant As I do..We work in different departments but I see her on and off all night, thats what keeps me going...Find you a good friend, you don't have to sleep with him but just some one you can kick it with at work , it makes the time go by so much faster..

Wake up in the morning and dress down in something fun. Listen your favorite song on your way to work. Get there on time and chit-chat with co-workers. Have fun and go out to lunch with some of them. Play the radio in your station while doing some work. And enjoy your weekend!!!!! Have Fun!. I know I Will!!!!!
