That depends entirely on one's definition of "sin". Ironically even by the Christian definition of "sin" being a Muslim would not be a sin. The Muslim Allah and the Christian/Jewish Jehovah/Yahweh are one and the same. Allah is simply an Arabic rendering of the name. Both Islam and Christianity are offshoots of Judaism. They share the same prophets. Muslims even honor Jesus as a great prophet (and there is nothing in Jesus' original teachings that mandated he be worshiped. Indeed he chastised his own disciples for such a suggestion saying noone, not even he, was perfect except God and that, therefore, ONLY God was worthy of worship. So any Christian who worships Jesus is committing a sin by their own definitions while a Muslim who accepts that Jesus died for his sins could still regard Mohammed as the one true prophet and not be sinning according to either theology).

As for myself I prefer the defintion of "sin" offered by the late, great author Robert Heinlein. His character, Lazarus Long, once observed, "The only real sin lies in hurting other people unnecessarily. All other sins are invented nonsense. (hurting oneself is not sinful... just stupid)"

I'm a converted Mormon and I thank God I know what I believe in and no one can deter my frame of mind. U sound like u r a little young and inexperienced in religions and beliefs. U have in the USA the inalienable right to choose what and in who u believe. Ur Parents, Teachers, Family, Friends, or even Government can't tell u that it is a sin to be a Muslim. They don't have that right. We all believe in GOD in one form or the other. He is the same whether his name happens to be I Am, Elohim, Allah, Buddah, Confucius, Ra, Odin, Zeus, or whatever u choose to call Him. As long as u believe in something or someone that is "GOOD", that's all that matters. Only thru diligent prayer and faith will U know what religion u should belong to. My Bible says if U should have any doubts ask ye of God and He will direct ur path. Peace be unto U, Shalom, Male-*** Absalom (sorry for the misspelling to my Muslim Family), take care!!!

No why should it be. If you are a Muslim it can't be. If you are not a Muslim it still can't be. That is assuming that your God is one that promotes tolerance, kindness, understanding and good. Islam is a religion of peace, as is Christianity. Unfortunately, in both you have tiny minorities who preach hatred.

Only a sin to be a bomb hurling terrorists or someone who crashes an airplane into a building in order to be able to sleep with 72 little girls, But Islam is a religion of peace.

Yes, denying Christ as Lord and Savior is a sin. Muslims hate Christians so they don't even care about sin.

Muslims think Christians are sinners, Christians think Muslims are sinners. It just depends on your perspective of things.

is it sin to be a christian or jewish?

they're all religions and every person believes that his/her religion is the correct one...there is only one right religion and i believe that it's Islam since the holy books of all other religions were changed by humans and that's y there are many versions of them, but there is only 1 version of the koran...i'm not gonna say that it's a sin not being a muslim cuz only God knows wat is sin or wat's not and we humans cannot be sure cuz God can do watever He wants and maybe He'll forgive the sinful

wat do u think?
