Energy is not composed of anything because it is not really a physical thing. Its basically the potential for change in any given system. Energy is measured by measuring change. For example thermal energy (heat) is measured by changes in temperature.

Quoting Physisists it is a packet of the electromagnetic wave.. And this is as far as present science beliefs goes.
However;My own analysis indicates that energy is not a quantity .It is a process. Whereas mass is an entity of a quantity and is not the same concept as Energy. Energy is evaluated as the phenomena as the product of a mass and the velocity squared that the mass moves. If the velocity of the mass is the speed of light then its energy is mass times the speed of light squared.
Mathematically its a scalar ,however the direction of the mass motion iis the same as its velocity which is a vector.

Not what you would expect. The basis of energy is physical time. Consider the values of E = mc2, and c2 = E/m. The only constant value is that of "c2". Mass and Energy are variables. c2 is the value that allows all acts and functions to move from the present into the past, and it determines what that rate shall be. http://360.yahoo.com/noddarc check out "what is time"

Energy has the ability to do work. Which means it is capable of causing masses to move.
You can think of it as being trapped heat or the result of interaction of force fields like electromagnetic fields, gravitational fields and nuclear force fields.
