Chrome plastic is a different breed.

You have to be very careful with what you use to clean it and polish it because some chemicals with damage the plastic. To clean it, I would use soap and water with a soft cloth. If you have road grime or bugs that are being a pain, use fresh Coca-Cola or 7Up as a cleaner, you'll be amazed.

As for polishing, the layer of chrome is not as thick as on metal. You have to be very careful and not use a polish that is to aggresive. Jewelry polish would work great, or even mayonaise. Yes, mayonaise. (Old strip club secret, they used to polish the brass poles with mayo. I'm dead serious. Look it up.)

To finish, use a coat of wax for a long lasting shine.

ditto (weebat) Pledge works well as does Plexus. I wouldn't mess with a regular metal polish.

Hm, well, I would use Pledge, but that is what I use for most things. I also use it to keep my stainless steel fingerprint- free.
