Just because you pay taxes doesn't mean you can roam anywhere you want. You pay taxes that enable the military to run but you can't get on base without proper authority... Same thing applies.
You're county may have it set aside for some purpose you are not aware of and they don't want the general public on it.

You're an American citizen, too, but you would get arrested or worse if you tried to force your way into a military base, federal court, or the White House because you were under this delusion. Not all government property is open to the public, as any rational reflection should make apparent to you. Nor must it be, as it is held for various purposes, some of which may require the exclusion of some or all private citizens. Even in many parks, which are specifically for the use and recreation of private citizens, it is common for reservations or the like to be required for the use of picnic or other facilities. There is nothing at all strange about the exclusion, as it may be an area designated for research, containing hazards, or containing vulnerable wildlife or plants; "It's just a forest" is an uninformed assumption on your part. If you enter it nevertheless you can most certainly be treated in the same manner as a trespasser on privately held property -- and there may even be additional penalties, depending on local laws and on the use being made of the land. Parks and public forest land are usually clearly marked on maps; I'd advise you to find one of those instead.

Just because you pay taxes on it doesn't mean it is for public use. The only County property that you are allowed to use (taxes or not) are properties that are available for public use such as parks or other recreational areas.

Suppose you sat down to eat a meal at a restaurant and the guy who owned the restaurant came over, sat down next to you, and helped himself to your mashed potatoes could he make the same argument?
Your logic doesn't make sense. Just because you pay taxes for some county services doesn't mean you have complete ownership of a county and the right to do everything you want in it.

Likely for the same reason that private property is subject to outside regulation. Case in point - I cannot paint the front door of my house (the one I OWN) purple without prior approval of the Homeowners Assoc.
I am not much a fan of that one either.

Because taxes are taken by the rich... sorry those voted into power as a minutely more fair system than the tithes imposed by mediaeval governments on the serfs. Just cause you pay taxes doesn't make you any more special than anyone else, it just means the bullies in power won't punish you for not giving them their money back.

Because we have long since reached, and passed, the point where "civil servant" has become semantically equal to "civil master". We no longer collectively own our various gooferments... they now, collectively, own us.
