I can only think of several advantages, no disadvantages. First of all the AK-47 was designed as a military rifle NOT a target rifle. At practical battle distances the AK-47 is as accurate as it needs to be. In combat you aren't shooting at 1 inch black dots, but full sized humans. Accuracy isn't number one for a military rifle, but rather dependability, knock down power, and easy of use. All of these the AK more than excels at. And AK-47's really are not that inaccurate as so many people claim them to be. At 100 yards I can consistently hit the 6 inch black area on the targets I shoot. Remember a gun is only as accurate as the one shooting it.

The kalashnikov is a very sturdy weapon that almost never breaks, jams, or misfires. It can take some hits, drops, bumps, and whatever else and usually still work well. It's capable of a high muzzle velocity and frequent firings.

The downside is that it isn't really very accurate.
