if you have, did they grow back thicker your first time or did they grow back thicker after 2 or 3 times of shaving ?? did shaving them reduce your amount of sweating? were you a profuse sweater to begin with?

I shave mine with an electric trimmer every 3 or 4 weeks. When I've let it grow back, I couldn't notice that it was any thicker. I don't recommend shaving with a razor. It seemed when I did use a razor I noticed the sweat more and it just wasn't very comfortable. I wasn't an extreme sweater, but it does seem to have decreased a little.

This must be a question for men? Most western women shave their armpits regularly. Since we do, we don't notice any difference in thickness or it doesn't really matter as we do it often enough to keep hair from showing in sleeveless shirts.

Hair does not contribute to sweating. That has more to do with trapping odor than perspiration. Use a deodorant/antiperspirant to reduce sweating. Shave at least 12 hours before doing so.

I've both shaved and trimmed the hair and personnally continue to prefer just trimming it. The haid will appear thicker for a while because the hair is naturally thicker towards the root. Also, when you cut the hair by shaving, you blunt off the end as opposed to the natural tapered growth.
As for sweating.. I did not notice a considerable different. Rather it just felt more comfortable for me wearing a tighter fitting shirt (Nike Pro, compression fit).
Be careful shaving as you may end up with ingrown hairs and irritation until your skin becomes used to it.

I've shaved under my arms for 25 years just because I like the feeling. Had no effect on thicker or darker hair and I shave about every three days.

I shave mine all the time. The hair that grows back is the same and I don't see a downside. I like the feel and plan to continue.

Shaving does make the hair thicker; however, it cuts down on body odor. I vote for it.
