Because its inhabited by man. Man has the ability to destroy all thats good,as well as evil.

Perhaps it's just your outlook that is bleak. Wars and killings have been a constant throughout human history. You must try and look at the bigger picture.
It's the end of the world as we know it. And I feel fine!

It's all about freedom vs. terrorist regimes. The terrorists want to control the entire world by killing ALL freedom loving people. We've got to be pro-active and kill them because if we don't, we'll be dead.
