Mass is the degree of the quantity of count number in an merchandise. that would not substitute except the astronaut loses a limb or eats a dozen watermelons or something. WEIGHT is how that mass responds to a gravitational container - the astronaut's weight will be diverse on earth and the moon.

Mass is the amount of matter. An astronaut does not change the amount of matter going to the moon. Weight is the pull of gravity on the mass. The moon pulls less because it is smaller, so the astronaut weighs less. In space where there is no gravity, he is weightless, but still has his mass.

Mass is the measure of the 'quantity' in an object, which doesn't change - no matter where it is. Weight is a measure of the gravitational pull on an object, and changes depending on where the object is. An object on the moon would weigh about 1/6 of what it weighs on earth. On Jupiter, it would have a weight about 2 1/2 times greater than that on earth because of the stronger gravitational pull. Yet that same object would have the same 'mass' no matter where it is!

Hi. Because mass is not the same as weight. Weight is the attraction of mass to mass due to gravity. Mass is resistance to acceleration and gravity does not effect it's value.

the body size doesnt change they look as the y were not smaller nor bigger,only weight changes because moon has different pull force(gravity).....
