Yes and it is even worse when one has, as I do, a hearing problem that makes many consonants sound alike. It is hard for me to talk over the phone anyway, but when I have to deal with someone with broken English, curious nuances and a heavy accent, it becomes nearly impossible.

I agree...I don't mean I'm a racist but I think no matter what country you live in you should have a local tech support person who speaks the same language. I have the same problem with the Dr.'s office.

Yes, that's so true, whenever I call Apple. You always have to ask them to repeat it and spell it out. When I had problems last week with my Imac, thankfully, no trouble there. I got no Indian technicians. Wouldn't be wise if they had a translater at least, when we can't understand their English?

Not just tech support, lots of companies are doing it. One of our credit cards, through Washington Mutual. Lady's nice, but can't understand her at all. Yeah, it's frustrating though. I usually just fire off letters or emails, I know it does no good, but makes me feel better. One thing you can do that pisses them off, say can I please speak to someone who talks English? They get soooo mad lol

You got that right! I hate when that happens, and I always asked them to connect me to someone I understand, and will make them keep directing my call till I get someone I can understand. And they always ask is ok if I call you by your first name, and they can't even pronouce it have the time!

Yes, it's the same with all organisations which have Indian call centres, they claim to be called Kevin but then you cannot understand them.
