I believe -- you will soon find out -- that child psychologist requires a lot more than a 4 year college degree. As long as you understand and have the resources to get you through, that is a good choice. It is always good to have a job that appeals to you.

Depends on what sector you work in. Is it private practice or through a hospital or through the school district. I would say your best bet is to talk to your school guidance counselor. They have books that will give you the salary range, plus tell you what the projected demand is for the profession. You could also take a look at salary.com and they would give you the salary range for your area.

I'm 35 and I still don't know what to do with my life, so kudos to you.

Colleges which offer psychology degrees would be your best source for all your information.
