Well its like the chicken and the egg.
You need matter to get energy and matter comes from energy!
Transformation.> fire energy from matter.
Everyday we burn CALORIES that energy comes from food (material food, that is!)...
If you consume more calories (potential energy)than you spend all that excess energy will be transformed into fat, and your mass will increase!
I know I know the energy is potential and came from material food...But its the closest answer I could give you without getting into the laws of conservation and thermodynamics wich I did not study.

If you know how to work with equations try Einstein's E=MC^2
> if E=MC^2 then M=E/C^2
divide a quantum of energy by the speed of light square and you'll get the quantity of mass proportional to it.

As you can see, its theoretically feasable!

Hi. Theory predicts that it happens all the time in space, but first you need a HUGE amount of energy. The explosion of the atomic bomb converted 3 grams of matter to energy.

Matter is a different manifestation of energy.

Everything in the universe is a form of energy that cannot be created and cannot be destroyed.

I mean, if I could give you the details I could probably solve the answer to life, its meaning and its origin. However, I cannot.
