Hey, I am a 15 year old male. I play basketball for my HS team, and I have bad leg problems that I need an idea of what is wrong.

1st- The bottom of my foot at the very back I would say the heel, has pain after running on it. If i don't have pressure on it it stings and aches really bad. What could be wrong?

2nd- My knee has pain, it gets sore and swollen, what could be wrong here?

I really need some help... I can't go to the doctor anytime soon...

I only wear running shoes, old or new, they still hurt ( my leg and foot I mean) I need to know what could be wrong. Not a shoe ad!

Your foot problem sounds like you have a heel spur. I have them on both feet and experience the same kind of pain.

Here are a couple of things you can try:

1. Stretch it. Here's what my doctor told me to do, and it helps: Hold your leg straight, then stretch your foot/ankle until your toes point up toward your head. Stretch it as tight as you can. Hold it for about 30 seconds, then release. Do three reps several times a day, especially when you get up in the morning and before you play ball. During breaks in the game, you might want to repeat that exercise.

2. A podiatrist can order custom-made orthotics to wear in your shoes. These will change the way your feet hit the ground and, over a bit of time, actually cure the problem. If you can't get to a podiatrist, check your drugstore for over-the-counter orthotics that will cup your heel and raise your arch. They may help a bit, but the stretching and custom orthotics will help more.

I work for a podiatrist ofc, doesnt sound like heel spur-that happens on bottom part of heel. Have you tried custom made orthotics? Be careful getting advice from anyone other than a Dr. though-because its likely it will make it worse! How often do you play or practice ball? Over-do-it? It sounds to me like Achilles Tendonitis since its in the back of the heel and can go up the calf. I would stop exercising until you can see a Dr. because if left untreated it can cause chronic thickening and inflammation of the tendon. Until you get into the Dr's ofc - try to wear flexible shoes, if you have to run-run on flat surfaces, flex & stretch before and during.

hello there :)
As you were saying you're a basketball player so maybe the pain that you are experiencing right now is because of your active playing sports. There's a lot of causes with that, maybe because of the shoes that you are wearing, you should wear shoes that really fits you and intended for that sports or maybe because when you played it stresses your foot and knee maybe once you have a bad fall. There's a lot of maybe dude, so better yet tell your parents regarding your problem and ask them to see a Poditrist, ok? Only a doctor can answer all of your problems about your foot right now.

I'm guessing maybe you have old shoes, try getting New Balance running shoes Series 600 or higher, no less than 600 because the lower models are for walking and casual wear

You are of course young, but still there are several things that
could account for your pain. Arthritus is the one that often causes
knee & joint pain. Or if the heel and knee pain are in the same
leg, you could have got a sprain. I hope it is something that will go
away, but you really should see a Dr.
