automatic with a shift kit if you look at drag cars they do not have standard tranny they run the automatic truck pullers use automatic

No need to answer separately - manual is best in both cases. For proof of this, look at the tech specs of and calss winning tractor pull machines. Likewise I have yet to see a successful drag racer in the UK without a clutch. You get too nuch slip through a torque converter.

I think for both of those any kind would be fine. But Automatic is much easier to drive so I would pick Automatic

drag racing 1969 'cuda w/426 hemi ...automatic of coarse

manuals are better for both. you get more torque for pulling in a manual. some people do like automatics better for racing though.
