What makes you think you were manipulated? Can we have more details please?

Manipulated by Israel to be sure. Britain was our willing accomplice in the sordid mess. Tony Blair is paying for his complicity with his political life - he's being kicked out.
Now the news emerges that the new president of Iraq (a shi-ite) was a former resident of Iran where he took refuge from Saddam. His political party Dawa is also a political party in Iran. The plot thickens even more - He has agreed to cooperate in a joint project to develop new oil fields discovered along the two countries border.
This of course was not possible under Saddam who kept the Iranians at bay. I'm trying to understand now our payoff in this sordid mess. He couldn't make such a deal without us agreeing to it. So why the smokescreen about Iran's nuclear weapons, is this a larger plot to raise another false pretense to attack Iran to gain control over not only Iraq's oil but that of Iran too? This certainly would explain our seemingly "irrational" behavior by invading Iraq to overthrow Saddam )who had done nothing to us).
Then George Bush thru Cheney is "empire building","network building" would be a more logical term, what other reason to invest all of this money and American lives? To free Iraq's? I think not! Since when have we ever been so noble? It now birings into better focus of the Israelis.
