Does anyone have a Hitachi HDTV they're happy with? Is Hitachi a good brand to buy?

Yes...Hitachi is one of the best brands to buy. When I bought my television I had originally ordered a Mitshubshi but it was back ordered. Sears replaced the tv with the Hitachi and I am very happy. They have great pictures and easy to use remotes (sony remotes suck)

My friend bought a projection TV from Hitachi a couple of years ago and had some problems with the lamp. Hitachi replaced it and then a year later the same problem came back but it wasn't on warranty anymore. He had to send a letter to the Head office here in Canada to finally get some help. Make sure you buy from a reputable store.

I have a Sony 42" hd wega but I got it for $800 less than normal
price. Had I had to pay full price, Hitachi would have been a
serious consideration
