Maybe someone who became ordained over the internet? This is really weird and marriage counseling often takes weeks. I'm surprised he didn't offer drive through service! In most churches, it's definately unethical...you can't determine the outcome or give your blessing to someone you've known a total of 30 minutes, that's absurd. I'd start calling around and question why it was done this way.

What do you mean "ethical"? The 17 year old more than likely can't get married w/o parents consent anyways. And any pastor who would agree to this bases his/her decision on their church's beliefs. More than likely it is a non denominational church.

Your question is a bit confusing...is this you or someone else? Did they already get married or it is a hypothetical?

To marry a couple who are WILLING to marry is always ethical. To know what right thing to do....well we all take those chances. How do you know that they won't be together for 50 years?
