Yes it does, now since Bush can now use the 9/11 attacks to justify everything. And witholding evidence from defendants is against their rights. I mean, even if they did terrorist things, we should still be just, yet not deny them of rights. You know McArthy's "Red Scare," it's the exact same thing, except with Bush.

Power doesn't corrupt any more than money corrupts. It's the LOVE of power, or the LOVE of money that corrupts. Most people have power to some degree. Not power as great as the President, but still, we have a degree of power in our homes, in our jobs, with our kids, etc. Do you think you're a corrupt person? Corruptness can come from a poor values system. It can come from a bad self-image, bad upbringing, bad morals, the list is almost endless as to what causes corruptness, but power alone doesn't cause corruptness. Something within the individual makes them corrupt long before they have any power at all.

The Republicans are living proof that power corrupts, with all of their antics during the Clinton administration, with the government shutdown and the impeachment which was motivated by nothing more than partisan politics.

People who would blow up America should be dealt with harshly.
But, I do agree that Clinton's *******upsets me much less than the antics the Bush admin. has pulled. If Bush were impeached, would that make Cheney president? God help us.

Of course power corrupts, I'd be worried if it didn't. People are willing to do anything for power. If there was a choice between power and a clean concious, people would choose power.

Power certainly does corrupt, and George is becoming one of the most corrupt leaders we've had so far. I believe that, without interruption, he will well become the most corrupt political leader America has ever had.

Too bad it wasn't Dumbya that Laura Bush killed as a 17 year old when she ran over her HS boyfriend, Michael Douglas.

Let's figure this out. If you are fighting an enemy with no scruples and you cling to your scruples, you will die an honorable death. If you fight them with their own weapons, you may survive. An unfortunate case of the end justifying the means. I believe the contributions of Western civilization to human history is a legacy great enough to withstand compromise.
As an American, I do not feel threatened by my government. I feel threatened by the enemies of the free world. I have nothing to hide.

I think that lack of power corrupts just as much as power.
