self·ish (sĕl'fĭsh)
adj.
Concerned chiefly or only with oneself: “Selfish men were . . . trying to make capital for themselves out of the sacred cause of human rights” (Maria Weston Chapman).
Arising from, characterized by, or showing selfishness: a selfish whim.
Hey... we are all a little selfish at times. Getting upset is fine... but maybe understand that patience is a virtue as well :). The other thing is that your friend is giving you honest feedback... that is cool... does she ever say things she likes about you? Try that out... is she putting you down to build herself up? We all have things to learn.

You being an only child.. Especially when you get upset when something doesn't go "your way"... Someone will automatically say you are spoiled. I know, I am an only child and for the longest, people always thought of me to be this "spoiled little brat" even when they didn't really know me. But when you do get mad over something like that, someone will judge you and say you are spoiled... And it does sort of make you seem spoiled. People can't get things to go their way all the time, you shouldn't let that kind of stuff bother you so much and she wouldn't be so judgemental...

You're not selfish. You're a control freak & there's nothing wrong with that! Ha ha. I tend to be a bit of a perfectionist & get upset when things don't go my way. We have to remember that we can only control ourselves not other people (not other drivers, the weather etc etc). The world won't always follow our script!
If you're kind to others you're not selfish. Anyway, you have to put yourself first. That's just survival. Maybe your friend is jealous...
Or maybe you are a spoiled only child, I don't know. I was an unspoiled middle child...

You sound like my son. Hes an only child also. He gets overly mad when he doesnt get HIS way. We're working on this. He has to realize that when he doesnt get what he wants or get his way, its not the end of the world.
This is what you need to think about. You arnt a bad person, youre just used to getting your way, cuz you didnt grow up around brothers or sisters. My son is the same way, and hes a great kid and he loves people. Hes a sweet kid.
No, you arnt selfish.

This truly sounds like a middle school problem. Perhaps you and your friend need a chill-out time apart. Arguing about things like this never accomplishes anything. Getting mad to get your way all of the time is childish. Getting mad because you never get your way sounds like you need new friends. Consider who your true friends are and adjust wisely.

It depends on the things you are getting mad over. Just because you do things for people sometimes does not mean that you deserve to get something out of it . You should not expect something when you give .

Nah you aren't selfish. Everyone gets upset when things don't swing their way (me too!!) and I highly doubt your friend doesn't. If she says she does not then she is lying!
