For my English 2326 class we have to do a crossword. One of the questions is "pessimistic about the ability of mankind to rise above his "condition" by intuition."

It has something to do with Emerson and his essay's "self-reliance" and "nature". The blank is 22 spaces long.

So far I have: _n_i_transcendentalism

Any one want to take a guess at the missing blanks??

Thank you,

Mary

A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of small minds - Emerson.

Not sure, might start with "ANTI". It sort of goes with the "pessimism"

It might be anti-transcendentalism. Are there four or five spaces missing?
