A molecular formula states the number and kind of atoms present in a molecule of a compound.

The exact number of each element in the molecule, written as a subscript for each element. For example, glucose's empirical formula is CH2O (which is the ratio of each element), but it's molecular formula is C6H12O6. Note that that is not its structural formula, which will show how the atoms are connected.
