It depends on which hemisphere you are in

the Length of the day stays the same (although it is getting longer as time goes by).

The Longest amount of "daylight" or day time happens on Midsummer day (in the Northern Hemisphere) or on Midwinter Night (southern Hemi), Although I guess that they wouldn't call it that there.

Otherwise you could say that the tilt of the earth towards the sun must be at a maximum, for that pole.

the farther from the equator you are the larger the difference between the amount of daylight becomes.

Hope that helps.

North or South Pole and it has to be summer on a certain Day. I think from memory it is June 23 for the North Pole and Dec 23 for the south pole. Please check the dates.
