Here's how you get the percentage.
P = 100 * N/T %
where P is the percentage, N is a number that represents the part of the whole, and T is the number that represents the whole.
P = 100 * (121-20) / 121
P = 100 * .835
P = 83.5%
The previous answerers did not mention that you have to multiply by 100 to get the final percentage. Also, you should not have more than 3 digits in your answer, since there are only 3 significant digits in the input numbers (101 and 121).
Hey Ecstatic--I don't know what you've been stretching lately, but your formula was off by 10,000%. I guess you can join the "duhhh" club too since you're so rude as well as sloppy and inaccurate.

You got 83.47% of the questions correct. You can round it off to 83%.
•121 questions
•20 incorrect
20/121 = .165289256198 (The [/] means "divided by.")
To make the value into a percentage, move the decimal point two spaces to the right:
•16.5289...
...and round out the percentage to the nearest hundredth, to make your math easier:
•16.53 (the .5289 is rounded up to 53 because the "8" in the ten-hundredths place [after the "2" in the hundredths places] is larger than 5, so you round the "2" to "3.")
To get your percentage of correct answers, simply subtract 16.53 percent from 100 percent:
•100% - 16.53% = 83.47%
So you got 83.47 percent of the questions correct. (That would be a lower B, depending on the grading scale used.

121 = total questions
20 = wrong answers
101 = correct answers
you want to know what percent of 121 total questions is 101 correct answers.
Translate your words.
"what" means variable (ex: what number = x)
"of" means multiply
"is" means equal
what percent of 121 is 101, becomes
x * 121 = 101
x = 101/121 = 0.835
shift the decimal two places to the right to make it a percent
83.5%
