Yes, have you tried to use finger nail polish. I work great.

You can also use a razor blade. Just don't hold it straight onto the mirror. At an angle, you can lift a corner then slowly scrape off the tag, the glue, etc. It takes a bit of patience, but then if you go over the area afterward with some alcohol or windex, you have a beautiful ungummy spot!

Liquid silicone, (the kind the sell in a shoe store to waterproof leather), will remove the tags & glue from anything from cardboard to glass. Just wipe it on wait 10 sec & peel it off. Worked in a shoe store, did it all the time!!!

try soaking the glass in warm water (or putting scalding water onto a sponge and soaking the cost ticket). If that would not artwork, use lighter fluid, which dissolves maximum glues. end it with an alcohol spray (inclusive of fragrance) so it would not scent like kerosene (i'm guessing it really is for a present?)

Spray good amount of windex and let soak. Wipe with crumpled up newspaper. May take a couple of tries, but will work. Note: Crumpled up newspaper is great when cleaning windows/glass/etc. No streaking.

If any of the above suggestions don't work, get this stuff called "Goof Off" (should be able to find it at WalMart/Target/Etc). It will remove pretty much any residue from any surface you could think of.

Be careful with it, though...the fumes are pretty bad....
