should i give a cover letter, resume, stamped envelope, etc...
any information is appreciated. thanks.

A cover letter, an addressed and stamped envelope , and if there's something specific the university wants addressed in the recommendation, provide the teacher a format.

If the university has its own fill in the blanks type of form, give that to the teacher. Also, if there's anything you want mentioned (awards, memberships, etc., let the teacher know. give them as much as they need to help you...that would be my rule of thumb.

When I write a recomendation, I also ask why the student wants to go that college. Then I write a reccomendation that mentions this and ties in their accomplishments, awards, grades, etc.
