Why does anyone get insulted? When we juxtapose your questions with the list of possible answers, three concrete facts become apparent; the GLBT community is intelligent, witty and know how to spell!!!!!! I think that's all we can extract from this uneducated question.

Because they are a target from so many groups. I think it is better to treat them as humans and ignore their insults and hurt feelings as they cry out for acceptance. Just treat them as you would any other human. All homosexuals are an easy target because of the intolerance of our society for any who are different. If you can not understand them then just agree to disagree and live your life as you see fit. Just let them do the same.

Why are you asking derogatory questions?
If you don't ask offensive questions like,
"Can you beat a gay person straight" or
"If we tied up a gay person and did an exorcism on them would it cure them" or
"Does owning a cat make you gay"

Cos its a personal subject. Someone calls you gay, how do you respond, when you know you'r not? Freak out, right? But, when theres a subject like being gay, there is so much pejudice that they don't know if its an insult or not.

maybe they are easily insulted because they are insulted so often. being judged and denegraded and constantly having to hear mean remarks makes a person wary and more sensitive to what is being said to them.
like a person who has been mugged might become more aware of their surroundings and sensitive to danger.
