Vote for the person, not the party.

Idiots vote for parties like they have some sort of equity in a gang..... intelligent people look at the overall issues that are affecting the economy, world, and general well being of the US populus and vote for the best candidate although many times its the best of two evils. I'm registered Republican.... voted for Ronny, Bush senior, didn't vote for Clinton the first term, yes for the second. And have never voted for W.... what a joke.
Are you an idiot? (not directed at you just posing the question)
Powell's a good kid but we'll see what he stands for.

I do believe he is a man of integrity, and is crazy smart. I am not sure whether I would vote him for national office though, because I fear he cannot take the heat in the political kitchen. Clearly, the man is no coward, but I do think he allowed himself to have his beliefs subverted for too long and sold too much of his soul for the big appointment. In his written and spoken words before and since, he has shown great common sense and intellect, but can he make it stick at crunch time? I have my doubts...

Also, a big atheist-style "amen" to "vote for the person, not the party". Absolutely right...

The Powell Doctrine was how we won wars...now that Bush got rid of him and refused to listen to him, we're gettig screwed in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Coincidence?

Anyway, yes, I've always been a fan of Powell, despite his towing the line of al Qaida in Iraq. I would vote for him if he acknowledged his mistakes...regardless of party.

Yes, Yes, Yes. What a delema for him. How about a bail out and run indepentent. Works for me. I am a Republician and would vote for him in a second if I thought he could win but niether party wants him so I guess it is up to him what to do.
