I dont think so. I can see where others might think that, but I dont.
If each race wants to stick together and show what they can do and how strong they can be,, then have at it. I think it is going to be interesting to see which team self distructs.

I don't think so but it's hard to tell. The problem is that since Survivor is for American contestants only they can't do an international competition. I guess race is the next best thing along those lines that they could think of. We'll have to see once it actually airs how they handle it all.
A lot of the high profile sponsors are completely pulling out support, & some are pulling out for at least the premier until they see what the show is all about & how the public takes it. Kind of a risky move, hopefully they've thought it out. Personally I'm interested to see how each group makes out...

I don't see how, why is it that no one complained when they pitted older men, younger men, older women & younger women against eachother. They are just "mixing" it up, I think it's an interesting idea. Anyway, all the groups will end up merging at some point. I just don't see what the big deal is, it's an TV reality show for crapsake!!!! It's entertainment, why do we have to make it out to be more than it is?? I'm not racist, I know that racism still exists in our society, which is ridiculous. But I don't think Survivor is promoting it in anyway. Glad it's back on - I love the show!!! :)

In a word, definitely yes. Let me tell you why.

No one complained to the network when the show featured competition with the boys against the girls. No one said not one spoken word.

Its amazing that they have let this show run its course for this long. It has been on the air ever since it premiered in March of 1999. And the network executives at CBS keep pushing this show onward to new levels. You can tell that some network executive along with the show's creator Mark Burnett thought of this mess.

Talk about racism? You will see a lot of it on this show and its thick too. Its about time CBS cancelled this show for good. I'm tired of it.

I hope all the white people on the show lose (chill out, people; I'm white, too). Once that happens, the middle-class white viewership will vanish, and thus so will sponsers. That would effectively spell the end of "Survivor."

I hate "reality TV."

Only if people let it be about racism. At some point in this contest, the different groups will have to come together. Maybe that is the point, to show that even though we are different, we can pull together for the common good.

No they are running out of ideas so the next best thing to do is put people in ethic groups. As I say let the best person win.

No I don't believe they are. They have already divided groups by age and gender.(You didn't hear anything about "discrimination" ) It is just another way to divide the tribes (they end up merging at some point anyway)
